Aman upgrades are valuable, but they should not be the booking strategy. Many Aman properties are small, private and high demand, so the hotel may have very little flexibility at check-in, especially during peak dates.

At Amanpuri, Amanpulo and Amanyara, villa location, beach access and outdoor space are important. At Aman Tokyo and Aman New York, floor level, view and layout can make a big difference.
