I have just finished a fantastic stay at Waldorf Astoria Osaka. Before that, I stayed at Waldorf Astoria Panama and Conrad London St. James over the summer.

Those stays prompted me to refresh this guide because I think one of the best Hilton Honors benefits is also one of the least talked about. If you're booking an eligible luxury Hilton stay through a Hilton for Luxury advisor such as Clements Travel, you can earn double Hilton Honors points.

If you're already planning to book Hilton's flexible rate, it can be an easy way to earn significantly more points without paying more for your room.

How Do Double Hilton Honors Points Work?

Eligible Hilton for Luxury bookings earn your normal Hilton Honors Base Points, followed by the same number again as Bonus Points.

For example:

• 20,000 Base Points
• 20,000 Bonus Points
• 40,000 Hilton Honors points

If you have Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond status, your elite bonus is then added separately.

Why I Like This Benefit

A lot of Hilton Honors members focus on credit card points and public promotions.

This is easier.

If you are already booking an eligible flexible rate at a participating Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR, NoMad or Signia hotel, booking through Hilton for Luxury can mean double Hilton Honors points without paying more for the room.

On an expensive stay, that can add up very quickly.

Can You Still Earn Gold and Diamond Bonuses?

Yes.

Eligible Hilton for Luxury bookings continue to qualify for:

• Hilton Honors Base Points
• Double Hilton Honors points
• Gold and Diamond bonus points
• Eligible Hilton Honors promotions
• Qualifying stay credit
• Qualifying night credit

That means many Hilton Honors members can stack several different sources of points from the same stay.

Can You Combine This With Hilton Promotions?

Usually.

Depending on the promotion running at the time of your stay, you may receive:

• Base Points
• Hilton for Luxury Bonus Points
• Gold or Diamond bonus points
• Promotional Hilton Honors points
• Credit card points

What About Expedia or Booking.com?

This is where many Hilton Honors members lose out.

Bookings made through online travel agencies such as Expedia or Booking.com generally do not earn:

• Hilton Honors points
• Elite bonuses
• Stay credit
• Night credit

If collecting Hilton Honors points is important to you, it is worth comparing the overall value rather than simply choosing the cheapest room rate.

What Counts: Fine Print & Exclusions

While earning double points is straightforward, a few specific details determine how many points actually post to your account:

• Eligible Spend vs. Total Bill: Double points apply to your base room rate and qualifying room charges. Taxes, resort fees, and service charges generally do not earn base points, so they won't double. However, incidental charges—such as dining or spa treatments billed to your room—typically qualify.
• Participating Brands Only: This benefit is exclusive to Hilton’s luxury portfolio: Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR, NoMad, and Signia. Standard Hilton or DoubleTree properties do not participate.
• Qualifying Rates: You must book the dedicated Hilton for Luxury flexible rate through an advisor. Discounted corporate rates, wholesale rates, or advance purchase prepaid rates do not unlock double points.

Yes. Every dollar of qualifying spend earns your standard 10 Base Points plus an extra 10 Bonus Points per dollar. This effectively gives you a 20x points baseline on eligible luxury stays before adding any elite status multipliers.

Can I still receive my Gold or Diamond bonus?

Definitely. Your elite status tier bonus (80% bonus for Gold, 100% bonus for Diamond) is calculated separately on your base earnings and added on top, allowing you to stack double points with your existing status benefits.

Is this available at every Hilton property?

No. Double points through Hilton for Luxury are strictly limited to participating luxury properties across the Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR, NoMad, and Signia portfolios.

Can I earn double Hilton Honors points through third-party sites like Expedia?

No. Bookings made through online travel agencies (OTAs) are completely ineligible for Hilton Honors points, night credits, status perks, or luxury advisor benefits.
