Every year someone asks the same question: what are we doing for New Year’s Eve? If you’re still asking that about 2026, I may have found the answer.
Four Seasons I, the new yacht from Four Seasons, is sailing from Sint Maarten to Miami over New Year’s, departing December 27, 2026 and arriving January 3, 2027.
And guess what? It’s still available. The seven-night sailing is currently priced from $23,500 per person, based on two guests sharing a suite.
The itinerary is almost made for New Year’s. You’ll visit Antigua and Nevis first, spend December 30 and New Year’s Eve at sea, wake up on January 1 at Norman’s Cay in the Exumas, spend another day in the Bahamas and arrive in Miami on January 3.
I’ve been looking at festive availability across the Caribbean and Mexico, and this is one of the options that really stands out to me.
Why this works so well for New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve at a resort can be a bit of a production. There are minimum stays, compulsory dinners, restaurant reservations and often a lot of money being spent on one evening that may or may not live up to expectations.
Here, you board on December 27 and you’re done.
By New Year’s Eve, you’ve already been aboard for four nights. There’s no port on December 31, so the entire day is spent at sea. You have dinner, drinks and the celebrations aboard the yacht, go to bed when you’ve had enough and wake up on January 1 in the Bahamas.
I particularly like that last part. Your first day of 2027 is at Norman’s Cay in the Exumas rather than sitting around a hotel wondering what to do after the night before.

It’s also a very good itinerary for US travelers. You only need to get yourself to Sint Maarten at the beginning. At the other end, you step off the yacht in Miami.
I would arrive in Sint Maarten at least one night before departure. December 27 is one of the busiest travel periods of the year and I wouldn’t risk a delayed flight causing you to miss the yacht.
But is this basically a cruise?
Not really, and I think that distinction is important.
Four Seasons I has only 95 suites. Every suite has floor-to-ceiling windows and its own terrace, and even the entry-level Seaview Suite is around 473 square feet before you add the outdoor space.
There are 11 restaurants and lounges, a spa, a 20-meter pool and a marina at the back of the yacht that can open directly onto the water for swimming and watersports.
The larger suites get pretty serious. There are multi-bedroom options with huge terraces and private pools, so this could also work very well for a family or group that would otherwise be looking at several rooms or a villa at a Caribbean resort.
If you normally stay at Four Seasons but have never had much interest in cruising, this is the part I’d pay attention to. Four Seasons isn’t trying to squeeze thousands of people onto a ship. The whole thing has been designed much more like a very small Four Seasons resort that happens to move.
What does it cost?
The seven-night New Year’s sailing is currently available from $23,500 per person, based on two guests sharing a suite.
That’s $47,000 for the suite for the full seven nights.
Food and drinks are extra. Four Seasons currently suggests allowing around $250 per person, per day for dining and beverages, so this isn't an all-inclusive experience like some other luxury cruise lines.
I also wouldn't compare the price with a normal Caribbean cruise.
If you're considering this, you're probably also looking at spending New Year's week at one of the better resorts in St. Barths, Anguilla, the Bahamas, Mexico or elsewhere in the Caribbean. Once you start looking at festive rates, minimum stays, multiple rooms for a family, New Year's Eve dinners and everything else, the comparison starts to become quite interesting.

New Year’s Day might be my favorite part
The Exumas are exactly where having a yacht comes into its own.
On January 1, Four Seasons I will be at Norman’s Cay for a Yacht Club Day. The following day is another Marina Day in the Bahamas.
The yacht has been designed so the stern can open onto the water, creating a marina for swimming and watersports when conditions allow.
So after celebrating New Year’s Eve somewhere in the Caribbean Sea, you wake up and spend New Year’s Day in the water in the Exumas.
I can’t think of many better ways to start the year.
Would I book it just for New Year’s Eve?
No. And that’s why I like it. I wouldn’t spend this sort of money simply to attend a New Year’s Eve party. There are plenty of places where you can have a great December 31 for considerably less.
I’d look at this if I wanted a really good week away that happens to include New Year’s Eve.
You get Antigua, Nevis, two days at sea, New Year’s Eve aboard Four Seasons I, New Year’s Day in the Exumas, another day in the Bahamas and then Miami.
There’s no changing hotels, repacking bags or trying to organize seven days of restaurant reservations and activities during one of the busiest weeks of the year.
You unpack in Sint Maarten and the hotel effectively takes you to Miami.

Should I fly to Sint Maarten on December 27?
I wouldn't. I recommend arriving at least one night before the yacht departs. You're traveling during one of the busiest weeks of the year and a flight delay isn't worth the risk.
