Location and Getting There

Palm Beach is easy to navigate: a narrow island lined with pastel buildings, palm trees and some of the most expensive homes in the country. High-end restaurants and boutiques sit alongside laid-back beaches, creating that signature Palm Beach luxury vibe.

Check-In Experience

Valet parking is the resort’s only on-site option and it is worth the convenience. In fact, there really isn’t another practical choice. My room was ready right on time and I was welcomed with a glass of champagne, exactly the kind of touch that sets a five-star Palm Beach resort apart.

One thing I wish the staff had done, however, was provide a quick orientation and a printed or digital schedule of resort activities such as gym classes, telling me about the complimentary town car and daily events. Instead, I had to track down most of this information myself. A brief welcome overview would have made settling in even easier and highlighted the many amenities Four Seasons Palm Beach offers.

First Impressions & Design

From the moment you arrive, the Palm Beach style is clear. Bright, airy spaces and relaxed coastal design give the lobby a welcoming, easygoing vibe.

Unlike many cookie-cutter luxury hotels with white walls and beige bathrooms, Four Seasons Palm Beach showcases true sense of place with pastel greens and pinks, indoor palms and subtle nods to classic Palm Beach style.

The resort is also refreshingly walkable. No golf carts needed, every pool, restaurant and room is easily reached on foot, helping you feel connected to the destination.

Rooms and Suites

Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach offers 207 accommodations, including 193 guest rooms and 14 suites. The style is relaxed and coastal, with soft colours and plenty of natural light. Whether you choose a garden view, an ocean view room or one of the spacious suites, every space is designed to feel comfortable and quietly luxurious without being over the top.

Categories and Layout

I first booked a Palm View Room and, thanks to the Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits, I had the chance for a one-category upgrade at check-in. I was lucky and received a top-floor Ocean View Room, three categories above my original booking.

Most guestrooms are about 393 sq ft (37 m²). The real highlight is the view and how close each room is to the pool or beach. From the top floor I could see the ocean from the bed and hear the waves at night, a detail that really makes the stay feel special.

Lower-floor rooms may not have a full ocean view, but you can step straight from your private terrace into the pool area. For families with children these rooms are especially convenient because you do not have to carry kids and their things through the hotel to reach the pool. For larger families the hotel makes it easy to book connecting rooms and create a two-bedroom suite.

The Palm Beach design carries through inside the rooms with pastel carpets, and walls and light curtains. Everything feels bright and airy, reflecting the island’s classic coastal style.

In-Room Experience

The room delivered everything I expect from a top-tier Four Seasons stay and then some.

Room highlights

• Closet and storage: Plenty of hangers (including trouser hangers), a good-size safe, Four Seasons slippers, laundry bag, iron and ironing board.
• The bed: I’ve stayed with all the major luxury hotel brands and Four Seasons still has my favorite bed and linens. After two weeks of heavy travel I arrived feeling burnt out and after just one night I felt completely refreshed.

• Workspace: There’s no dedicated desk but the dining table has nearby power outlets and worked perfectly for catching up on emails.

My room bathroom had a separate bathtub and a large vanity unit, perfect for relaxing and getting ready in comfort.

The bathroom included a separate toilet area, which made the space feel more private and practical during my stay.

The bathroom had a handy powder table with a three-sided mirror, perfect for getting ready in the morning or before dinner.

• Bathroom: Fluffy towels, deep bathmats that feel every bit the Four Seasons quality, a deep soaking tub, separate shower, three-sided vanity mirror and even a small makeup area with its own mirror. Bathroom scales are provided too.

My top floor terrace was comfortably furnished and offered gorgeous views of the pool and the Atlantic Ocean.

• Terrace: A furnished ocean-view terrace with a small table and chairs overlooking the beach became my go-to coffee spot each morning. My dog loved lounging in the sun here.
• One minor downside: there are no light switches near the bed, so each night I had to walk to the entrance door to turn the lights off.

Dining & Drinks

One of the best parts of my stay was the food. After a week of crawfish and gumbo in Louisiana I was ready for something lighter, and the fresh, clean dishes here hit the spot. I sampled every restaurant and bar on the property to give my clients a clear picture.

Florie’s is the signature restaurant at Four Seasons Palm Beach, created by Mauro Colagreco, the chef behind Mirazur in France, once ranked the best restaurant in the world. It has a lounge bar and both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu focuses on seasonal Mediterranean flavors with a touch of coastal Florida, served in a setting that feels relaxed and inviting.

As part of my Four Seasons Preferred Partner booking, daily breakfast was included with a credit of up to $116, plenty to cover a full meal. Highlights included some of the most authentic huevos rancheros I have had in the U.S., a fruit plate cut to order and perfectly fresh, and wellness-focused menu options. The outdoor terrace overlooks partial garden views with the family pool just behind it, although pool noise never interrupted the peaceful breakfast experience.

On my final night, I had dinner at Florie’s and it exceeded expectations. I started with a chilled green pea soup that was refreshing in the Florida heat, followed by grouper with potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Portions were generous yet balanced, and the food overall was not heavy, which I really appreciated since many U.S. restaurants lean toward rich, heavy dishes. I skipped dessert, but I left feeling satisfied rather than overfull.

The only drawback is that Florie’s takes its last seating at 9:00 p.m., which feels early compared to larger cities but is typical for Palm Beach. On my first night, I arrived just after 9:00 p.m. and had to order from the bar menu instead. Fortunately, the lobster roll was excellent and made up for the limited timing.

Florie’s also has its own bar that feels like a true hotel lounge rather than a nightlife scene. The space includes a U-shaped bar where you can chat with the bartenders, along with a lounge area featuring low seating and generous spacing between tables and chairs, making it comfortable and relaxed.

If you only order one thing, make it the lobster roll I mentioned earlier. It is worth returning for. The cocktail list is excellent, with well-made classics like an Old Fashioned or a Negroni, plus a rotating selection of seasonal drinks crafted with fresh ingredients. My favorite was the bartender’s grapefruit and rosemary gin cocktail, which was light enough for an afternoon drink but still full of flavor.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Florie’s Bar offers a happy hour in both the bar and lounge. The featured sparkling wine and the featured rosé are each $12, making it an easy and relaxed way to ease into the evening.

For lunch I headed to Seaway, the open-air beachfront restaurant at Four Seasons Palm Beach. Tables are generously spaced, creating a relaxed atmosphere, and there is a casual bar that looks directly out over the ocean.

The menu is simple and focused on fresh seafood and light salads, with options like burgers and steaks if you prefer something heartier. Everything I tried was fresh and well prepared, and the service was genuinely warm while still feeling relaxed and natural.

Seaway is a great option for a casual lunch by the beach, combining ocean views with high-quality food and attentive service.

Four Seasons Palm Beach sits directly on the sand and strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and luxurious. The resort features two pools: a spacious main pool designed for families, complete with inflatable toys, and an adults-only pool tucked just behind a hedge for those who prefer a quieter retreat.

Sunbeds around both pools are complimentary and easy to find, and there are also cabana-style loungers with ocean and beach views. During my stay, I never had trouble securing a spot.

The pool area is well staffed, and service is seamless. Each lounger has a small table buzzer so you can call a server whenever you want to order food or drinks. At the family pool, the inflatable toys kept kids entertained, and the atmosphere was lively without feeling chaotic.

Whether you are looking for a fun family-friendly pool or a peaceful adults-only setting, the beach and pool scene at Four Seasons Palm Beach offers the best of both worlds.

There is also a service bar by the pools stocked with a selection of sunscreen and aloe vera cream along with plenty of towels. Chilled towels and bottled water are handed out regularly. One afternoon the staff even brought out an ice cream cart and handed out cups of ice cream, which was a nice touch, especially considering how many other hotels nickel and dime for little extras like this.

The resort offers direct access to a beautiful stretch of beach with loungers available to rent for around $300 per day. While this pricing feels high compared to resorts in Mexico, where beach chairs are typically complimentary, the setting itself is stunning. The waves are gentle enough to create a calming sound while still keeping the beach swimmable, and food and drink service is available both poolside and on the sand.

Sunset is a highlight at Four Seasons Palm Beach. The sky shifts to shades of gold as families and couples gather along the shoreline to take it in. The beach never feels crowded, unlike other areas of Florida, which makes the experience more relaxed and exclusive.

The resort also takes excellent care of its beachfront. During early morning walks I often saw staff raking the sand and cleaning to ensure everything looked pristine before guests arrived. For those who want something more active, there are also beach games such as paddleboarding and volleyball available.

Spa & Fitness

The spa and fitness facilities at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach match the property’s relaxed but polished vibe. The spa is a quiet retreat with calm lounge areas, and the gym is well equipped with modern machines and free weights for both cardio and strength training. Unlike many Four Seasons resorts where the spa and gym share the same building, here they sit in separate spots across the property.

Full Spa Review

The spa is spacious and sleek with a black and gray palette that feels very different from the pastel tones and indoor palms that give the rest of the resort its charm. Personally I would have preferred a bit more of that Palm Beach character here, but it is still a calming, high-end space and it was all incredibly clean.

Spa Layout Highlights

• Changing rooms: Fully stocked with everything you might need, including multiple sinks, shaving cream, aloe gel, and a hot towel warmer.
• Lockers: Spotlessly clean with no musty odor, which is often an issue in spa changing areas.
• Showers: An eight-nozzle setup that sprays from every angle for a full hydrotherapy experience.
• Jacuzzi: Located in the single-sex area. The jet button is tucked around the corner, so it took me until day two to find it.
• Iced face towels and cucumber: Small touches that make a big difference.
• Steam room: Spacious and effective, although the steam generator can be a bit noisy if others are using it.
• Gentlemen’s lounge: Comfortable daybeds and plenty of water for relaxing post-spa.
• Pre-treatment area: Light snacks such as almonds, goji berries, and granola, along with three types of tea.

I didn’t book a spa treatment during this stay, but the reception area offers a well-curated selection of products for guests who want to pick up their preferred skincare or fragrance items.

Note: The sauna is not located inside the spa itself. Instead, it is in the gym, which sits in a separate underground section of the resort. It would have been nice to have the sauna positioned near the steam room and Jacuzzi, since those three experiences naturally complement each other. Keep this in mind if you are planning a full spa day at Four Seasons Palm Beach.

After my road trip through the South where plenty of good food was consumed, a gym session felt necessary. The fitness center has a solid selection of equipment, mostly Matrix brand. It is a large space with all the key pieces you would expect, including more than enough treadmills and three Peloton bikes for anyone who prefers a ride.

To one side of the gym there is a dedicated room for classes. A fridge is stocked with bottled water, and there is a refreshment bar with coffee, fresh fruit (bananas and apples), and a selection of water available at different temperatures. The little details really do count.

The changing room, like the spa, is extensive, with lotions and other bathroom amenities readily available. This is also where you will find the hotel’s sauna, tucked into the same area.

Family and Kids

I don’t travel with a family, but many of my clients do, so I always pay attention to how well a resort caters to children. I was genuinely impressed by what Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach offers.

• Kids For All Seasons Club: Open daily for ages 4 to 12, with supervised indoor and outdoor play, crafts, and activities.
• Teens Room: A relaxed hangout space with video games and comfy seating.

Activities for older kids: A putting green, billiards, and outdoor table tennis give older children and teens plenty to do.

It is not hard to find a resort that works well for younger kids, but it is rare to find one that also keeps teens happy, and Four Seasons really delivers here.

Service & Staff

Four Seasons stands out for its service. From arrival, the team greet you by name and quickly pick up on your preferences. Service feels natural and attentive without ever being over the top.

I found the staff to be excellent and never over-obtrusive. They gave me space but there was always someone nearby when needed. At one point I even had a problem with a DoorDash order for my dog’s food being delivered to the wrong place, and the team immediately got to work tracking it down and made sure it reached me without any fuss.

Why I Lean Toward Four Seasons

When I want a real luxury break without all the showiness of a big resort, I go for Four Seasons Palm Beach. The mornings are calm and quiet and the little service touches like towels ready at the pool and staff who are helpful but not hovering really stand out. The spa feels big and relaxing without being flashy and the food is excellent without needing a formal dinner every night.

Most of all I trust the Four Seasons brand. If something goes wrong they fix it quickly and without any fuss. When you travel a lot that kind of reliability means a lot.

When the Others Might Be Better Choices

If I were travelling with a bigger group or wanted more choices for dining, galleries or nightlife I would probably pick The Breakers. Its history, size and variety of restaurants and facilities are hard to beat.

If I wanted something more modern and spa focused with a pretty garden feel Eau Palm Beach is a strong option. The spa gardens and poolside cabanas are beautiful and Instagram worthy without feeling fake and I like the compact well planned dining room there too.

Final Verdict: Is Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach Worth It?

Absolutely. If you are looking for a luxury beachfront hotel in Palm Beach, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach delivers. Whether you are a couple, a family, or just passing through Florida, it offers the comfort, service and location you want. Would I return? Yes, without hesitation. I would also recommend it to anyone searching for an upscale Palm Beach experience that never feels stuffy.

You might expect Palm Beach, with its reputation for political and business heavyweights, to feel a bit intimidating. In reality it’s the opposite. The atmosphere at Four Seasons Palm Beach is relaxed, welcoming and completely unpretentious.

What really surprised me was how laid back the atmosphere felt, especially for a luxury hotel in this area. Most guests were couples or families on vacation and there was none of the cliquey Palm Beach energy you sometimes hear about.

From the moment I arrived, it was easygoing. The crowd is genuinely interesting and I enjoyed casual conversations with other guests around the pool and at the bar.

Is It Dated?

Some older reviews of the resort, going back maybe a decade or more, show photos that make the property look tired, even down to the bar using wooden clipboards for menus. That is not the case today. The entire property has been refreshed, and what you see in those old pictures no longer reflects the current look and feel. I have even seen a few Reddit comments calling the hotel dated, which probably come from people who visited back then. It is also worth noting that most of Palm Beach’s five-star hotels, including this one, are set in classic buildings, so a traditional style is part of the local character rather than a sign of neglect.
